My electrolux fridge has started playing up when on gas. It used to work superbly on gas and always got down to a good temperature but recently has not been so good. It lights ok and I can see the pilot light through the inspection hole inside but it just isn't getting down to reasonable temp.

Flame maybe looks a bit yellow so what could this mean? Is it needing cleaned out at the burner and is this something I could do easily enough? Or should I get someone to give it a proper service?

Pics of inside and outside for the vents.

Thanks Stealaway

Can I get to those parts just by removing the outside vents or will the whole unit need to come out?

Don't be tempted to poke the jet though, our old caravan had the same fridge and the performance dropped off as you describe, I got a guy to look at it and he said it wasn't worth fixing as it would need a new door seal (plonker) so I just took the burner off as suggested above and there was a load of very fine rust that had come down the gas pipe and was blocking the jet, cleaned out and job done good as new, get the experts in my:moon2:

Same is happening to mine but in temps of 44° outside its struggling. So im guessing it's that, have to wait for colder weather to find out.

I cleaned all the crap off the jet burner on ours last year (different style as it's a Thetford) and the fridge did work noticeably better on gas after that.

Yes keep it and get it looked at the old Electrolux units will no doubt be much better built than the modern trash, sorry modern ones.

Yep usually full of rust.
Don't be tempted to poke the jet its only aluminium and easily damaged. Blow it clear or buy a new one although they are stupidly expensive.
