Is this normal ?
The solar panel easily tops up the 110 amp leisure battery even on dull days
but the Waeco fridge seems to really drain the power within 2-3 hrs.

The lowest the battery has gone down to is 12.2 volt at which point I turned the fridge off.

The only constant drain is a nano tracker & Eberspacher temp read out which have no real effect & B2B.
I've had all these disconnected but no change.

If I was to leave the fridge on over night would the battery be damaged by the time the solar kicked in.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Compressor fridges aren't suitable for running without a mains hook up unless you have a large battery bank and a lot of solar.
You don't say what model you fridge is, but the 90 lt one's average power consumption is quoted at 45 w that' nearly 4 amps and manufacturers figure's tend to be on the conservative side.
5 hours use would take about 20 AH out of the battery, are you sure your battery was fully charged, did you check the voltage with the solar disconnected? Solar can mask a dying battery only way to check is to fully charge the battery disconnected the solar and do a controlled discharge.

Leaving it on overnight should only discharge the battery by less than 50%.

Thanks Lenny(y)

Have had the van on hook up overnight then a 100 mile journey but the leisure battery always seems to react the same.

The solar panel seems to do its job but the displays show the volt drop within a couple of hours.

The battery is 8 months old & the van 14 months ?

Never thought about solar masking the battery a good point(y)
