We went down to our van (in storage) just to hoover and so on before going away in a couple of weeks. We tried the fridge on gas. At first the light flashed, then went off and we could hear the fridge on. We could feel the heat coming from the panel on the outside of the van at the back of the fridge but inside the freezer/fridge it did not seem to be getting cold. We couldn't spend that long there so not sure how long you would need to leave it running before noticing it was getting colder. But if it is making a noise and heat coming from the back we are hoping it may be working. Does this seem likely? It was early today but high twenties degrees even at 9 am.

It takes up to 5 hours for a fridge to completely cool down
The freezer cools quicker than the fridge (if you have one)

Ok thanks. Fingers crossed it is working as we may want to do some wild camping in Scandinavia. Sometimes having the van in storage is a real pain - we have had a few problems with it in other respects with lots more backwards and forwardsing than we have time for!
