Autocruise Accent
Just checking over my Autocruise Accent for my 1st trip tomorrow...to a 5 site with no hook up. When I turn the fridge on to gas there is continual ticking which I guess is the ignition. There are no LED lights on this model to help. I assume there is air in the pipes...any help gratefully appreciated. Gas hob works fine, only picked up the van recently so fully serviced etc. How am I going to chill my wine!

Thanks

can take several attempts to light a fridge if the gas has been dissconnected

Have you previously had it running on gas?
For how long did you leave the igniter ticking?
On mine I have to hold the control knob in until the burner ignites and for another 20 or 30 secs afterwards.
The fridge will have it own gas tap, probably one of a couple on a manifold, which is perhaps not turned on.

As above, check to see if the gas tap is turned on for the fridge.

Keep turning off and on, it’ll hopefully bleed any air and get the gas lit.

If it’s clicking, then that means the igniter is working. They also won’t work if the van if on a slope greater than 5 degrees, so it could possibly be that 🤷🏼‍♂️

You should have a tap to isolate the gas supply to your fridge, check that the tap is not off.
The picture shows the tap in the on position. The tap will normally have a snowflake symbol on top of the red knob.

Can you check the gas jet is not blocked?
Could you try lighting it with gas hob lighter?

PP Bear. Yes won't chill on a slope... But that will not stop them lighting.!
Are you sure, as looking at my flame, once the vehicle is beyond the tilt, the flame will always be upright and may well be outside the flue and possibly dangerous, but happy to be edumacated 👍🏻

Yes I agree that I could be dangerous if the angle was that severe that flame could touch flue... but is there anything to physically stop the flame lighting in that position in the first place which is the issue OP is having.. IMO no there is not.

I was told to light the gas hob to draw the gas through if it had been disconnected , it works and the fridge lights straight away . How did you get on has it lit?

Had similar problem on my old Autotrail. On removing the cover surrounding the burner I found charcoal. Having tipped this out of the bottom of the cover, given the jets a blow and a brush (old toothbrush or hers indoors if she wasn't watching) and it fired up fine.

See Post No 3, does your control knob have to be held in for a few seconds to let the gas through or is yours electronic?

That's the problem when you start more than one thread on the same subject! solved yesterday at 4.26pm👍

Fridge working! Seems I was being a muppet and not pressing in the button on the front at the same time...phoned the dealer and now sorted. In my defence it didn't mention it in the manual! Thank you !
