We gave a dometic fridge freezer in Burstner Ixeo. Am presently in Spain. Fridge will not convert to battery when away from EHU.No fuses gone assuming it’s 12 volt element. How is this possible to confirm?
Your fridge is designed only to operate on 12volt when the engine is runningWe gave a dometic fridge freezer in Burstner Ixeo. Am presently in Spain. Fridge will not convert to battery when away from EHU.No fuses gone assuming it’s 12 volt element. How is this possible to confirm?
Does this fridge/freezer have an 'Auto' setting? Are you saying that the fridge never works on 12V, even when the engine is running? Or is the problem that it works on 12V when the engine is running, but won't work on 12V when the engine is stopped?Your fridge is designed only to operate on 12volt when the engine is running
It is meant to switch from electric to battery once electric discontinued. It does run on battery when engine on and we cannot have gas on.So travelling for along distance means no fridge,It does work on gas when we pull over and stop.Cant have gas on when on 24 hour ferry.
Are you saying that the fridge tries to switch to 12V when the engine is running, but the cooling doesn't actually work, so the fridge warms up to room temperature as you are travelling along? It is meant to switch from electric to battery once electric discontinued. It does run on battery when engine on and we cannot have gas on.So travelling for along distance means no fridge
It sounds quite normal to me, except that you shouldn't think of it as 'running on battery'. When the engine is running the fridge is actually being powered by the engine's alternator (electrical generator), not the battery. Therefore when the engine isn't running it won't power the fridge unless your m/h is specifically designed to run on the battery when the engine is stopped. No they only power up when you start your carjust to confuse the matter even more, do caravan fridges work on 12v without the engine running .......
