Although my Domestic fridge is cool it does not get as cold as it once did. I think I may have damaged it by filling the L P G tank on last fill up and forgetting to turn off the valve. Any advice? Thanks

I very much doubt that you damaged it when LPG filling.
How old is the fridge? What's the ambient temp wherever you are?
Does it get as cold on 240v as (presumably) it once did?
It may be that the thermal paste needs renewing.

Thanks for your reply. On 240v the fridge and freezer are really cold but to keep the fridge cool the control dial has now to be turned all the way up. We are away for a few days on the East coast and max air temperature is around 15°c. Normally the dial would be turned right down as it would be freezing up. The fridge is at least 6 years old.

Sorry, forgot to say, we have only gas while away. Did freeze up on 240v before we set off. Now struggling to stay cool on max setting on gas.

Most people on here will say putting your fridge on max will make it warmer try 3 or 4, due to the fridge working harder to cool to 5 makes the fridge back warmer meaning its working against the fridge when cooling

The fridge will work better on gas than anything other power source in my opinion, IF the gas part is working ok.
check the grills are clear of cobwebs and the flame is a good colour.

If the fridge isn't cooling that well but is getting cold try adding heat sink paste to the back of the cooling fins, I've had gaslow fitted and added more heat sink paste to fins and it freezes even on 1 on gas 🙄

Thanks for the suggestions. I have turned the dial off max and will try the other suggestions when we arrive home in a couple of days.

Recommend the heat sink paste. Very easy and cheap to do

Is the flame making a roaring noise, it might be the right colour but not strong enough to get hot enough.
