Fridge / freezer problem :(
Been great since we bought the Burstner elegance i800 (2014) back in May. Was impressed with how cold things were after the rubbish fridge we had in the Autotrail. Worked fine 3 days ago in the hot weather.. been turned off for 2 days. Started back up on gas today. All fires up ok and I can hear / see the burner BUT don't seem to be getting cold and the burner is running non stop. Not clicking on/off as it normally did.. any ideas guys. I don't know model number, fridge with freezer above and then oven above that.

It's a tec tower. It sounds like.the same problem that bobnden Bob has just had. I seem to recall that they replaced it under warranty.
You could pm him and find out.
Cheers, Terry

This problem is well known. The symptoms you describe is a classic case of a dirty flue. Give it a clean and it's job done.

Thanks. I will look into that tomorrow. Have a load of paperwork on this van and guess what, I didn't bring any of it.

Our Dometic fridge (not a tech tower) wasn't cooling on gas although the burner seemed to be on constantly, but the flame, although blue, wasn't "roaring" as it usually did. I stripped down the burner and cleaned out some rust like dust from the jet and it was back to normal after that.

Overnight report.
My ice creams, especially the strawberry splits are a bit squidgy but my burgers are solid.

Beer is cool to tepid. :crying:

Holding out as long as my gas does then will look into the cleaning of Flue and burner once I get home.
Thanks on input.

Assuming it is a Dometic......

If you look inside, at the back wall of the fridge section, you should see a sticker like this....

I have circled in red the model number on ours in our Burstner.

This link will take you to the Service Manual for the 8xxx series

I have a thetford frige freezer went on the blink whilst in the wilds of Scotland took the outside cover off and checked the obvious but gas not staying on called out a little man who found a rotted wire in the plug fixed it and the gas stayed on, whoopeee, but after an hour of him leaving I notice its not getting colder but hotter in the fridge. Any suggestions please. By the way I'm home now in Ayrshire.

There is a common problem with Fridges on gas not cooling and the solution is simple, clean the flue. If the fridge is OK on electric it's almost certainly a dirty flue. Pull the burner assy out of the way and get a bottle brush up there or similar and I suspect you will see a shed load of soot coming out. You also need to take off the top T piece and lift out the baffle in the top of the flue. Best of luck.

I forgot to mention I know it don't work on 12volts now because on the long trip home it still never cooled down as to 230volts not tried it since I've been home as I'm a wild camper and never get to plug in, out bowling tonight so will check tomorrow as the problem was on the back burner(no pun intended) because getting it through the MOT passed with flying colours, but thanks for the advice if the rain holds off will publish results tomorrow

Hi PhilandMena I checked the mains side and that has problems too, It is blowing the fuses so I have disconnected it all and the gas undone the screws in the fridge/freezer with a view to take it out and do a complete refurb of the machine but with the screws out it don't seem to want to budge, are there any other restraining screws, I have taken out the 6, 4 in the fridge 2in the freezer, if so where before I start getting phisical with it
