I'm a newbie
I've just caught site of an old thread regarding Fresnel lenses. The question was asked (and as far as I can see was never answered) if they work okay on vans that bulge out behind the cab doors. My old Elnagh has this type of bodywork but it also has the advantage of quarter lights which obviously don't move up and down. I take it these lenses are designed to give more of an angle than the conventional rear view mirror so the question remains. Has anyone had good results using a Fresnel Lens on a van with bulging sides

Your door mirror will normally be setup to see down the side of your van/motorhome, with the Fresnel lens it gives you a viewing angle out further from your van than your door mirror will normally see.

Are you talking about fresnel lenses fitted to the mirrors or to the rear window as often seen on busses.

Sorry.

No
See the other post "Left hand mirror" for lots more discussion
Thanks Rob That may have been the thread I saw but having looked through the posts again I cannot see an answer to the question. However for what they cost I think I'll get one and see how I get on

I tried fitting a Fresnel lens on the nearside cab door window (right-hand drive), but didn't find it terribly useful. Also, after a while, it partially pulled off the window as the window was wound up and down. I've removed it now.

Not sure if I hadn't fitted it correctly? But think it was OK.

You can get thin hard plastic ones for wind up windows.
