There has to be a better solution than the factory fitted ones?Has anyone come across a better method, preferably bluetooth please?

Best method I’ve found is just to look at the level but I understand that’s not always easy if it’s hidden away .

The sensors are generally OK but the displays are pretty poor. Updating the readout to a guage or something with extra lights can help.

I have for a long time being looking for a decent sensor for water and gas. And one company does them both :D

Thanks for Two on Tour I hadn't heard of these. Brilliant if they work as claimed.

Wissel You are probably aware of these, but just in case.

We have the water sensor for our grey tank and its great...apart from being a b*gger to fit because of the polystyrene cladding around the tank. But it works really well and I can definitely reccomend them. One thing to note though it that they have to be fitted to the bottom of the tank.

I didn't manage to find a UK supplier so I had my sister bring one back with her from the US. But although their website doesn't have UK shipping as standard, I think it did say they ship internationally, so it may be worth dropping her a line.

Mopeka are great but you do need to know the dimensions of the tank they are fitted to (and must be at Bottom of tank too).
Or.....put a measured amount of water into the tank so you know it's for example 25% full. And then play around with the tank height setting until it reads correctly. It might not be 100% precise, but it's close enough.

I've just sent them an email to see if they deliver to the UK and how much.
I'll post the answer when I get a reply.
This seems an ideal answer to my problem.

LPG Shop supply in UK (or Amazon). Sometimes cheaper to login to USA Amazon.

I had a reply from them saying rhey do not deliver to the UK because. Of the unrealistic postage costs. They added they hope to appoint a uk retailer”soon”

Our Compass’ standard water level gauge is pretty useless until you know it’s limitations.

For our 70lt fresh water tank, when full, the gauge’s needle is hard over, passed the full mark.
When it just starts to show less than full, we’ve 35-40 litres left.

Then, if we’ve not noticed before, if checks show the needle is lower than ~2/3 full I had better put another 20-40 litres in or mrskevenh might run out of shower water 😳🤬

I've just had the same reply from them, I'll do some more digging and report if I find a way round the delivery problem

Maybe worth looking at a group buy from the States? Ask them how many we'd need to order for them to consider shipping, or find out how many funsters are interested and ask them if they'd bulk ship that many?

Cheers

As an alternative option you could replace the existing tank sensors and continue to use the existing gauges.

Diabalo has fitted them and may be able to give latest insight on them.

The Horst miracle probes did the trick on the grey tank. Never had a prob on the fresh water tank.

If Mopkea won't ship direct, then you could look at a forwarding service. I've never used any of them, but there's a few listed here: Broken Link Removed

Not sure if this helps, but the problem I had was similar to what kevenh mentions; the standard level gauge says full when the fresh water tank has 20 or 30 litres of space left. If I leave it filling until it get to the overflow lots of water comes out of the screw top on the tank - which is not good...
So I put together a "tank full" indicator using one of these. XKC-Y25-NPN 24V for about £7 delivered. I stuck it to the side of my tank with CT1, just about level with the top and use it to turn on an LED, which I've mounted in the window next to the filling point. When the light comes on I stop filling and I know the tank is brimmed.
It might look a little challenging, but all you need is a fused 12V supply, an LED, a resistor, a three way terminal strip and some wire.

Although my guage is fairly accurate I only really look at to confirm what I already know. If you use your van regularly you soon get to know your water consumption.
e. g. Full tank if we both have a shower every day lasts 4 days if we miss a few showers 6 - 7 days. Exception being if we use the washing machine.
