Hiya folks, first time posting in here.

Question Time:

We have been looking at acquiring a motorhome for a few months now, the one we had finally set our sights on was cruelly & disgracefully sold from under our very noses, so we are a bit miffed.
However, today we saw a willing substitute van for sale, A 6 berth Fiat CI Riviera 660, 2.8 Diesel engine, 1999 reg. The only thing causing slight concern is the 88,000 miles on the old clockaroo.
Are we right to be hearing alarm bells or is this a reasonable mileage for a vehicle of this age etc.

My first thoughts on a vechile is not the milage, but the over all condition, has is been looked after? also is it a private sale or a dealer? priavte sale allows you to knock the price down, if it is a dealer ask for a extended warranty as well as money off, tell the vendor out right you are concerned about the milage, that puts an element of doubt in thier mind .
My last comment is 88,000 is 8000 miles a year, on a large deisel engine that is no miles at all.

Thanks Nick,

Eventually we found a new van which we've signed up for today! Same year, only 30,000 miles, much better condition and £500 cheaper! Went through a dealership which was very
good re: warranty etc.
Cant wait to get out and put some road behind us now! :thumb:
