For those thinking of travelling through France in the near future, there are going to be roads blocked by people protesting about fuel price increases on the 17th. It is supposed to be Nation-wide, certainly on the Peripherique around central Paris.

Take that possibilty of disruption into account in your planning.

Will listen to the news to see if this is still on. I know we had a few blocking actions, but I don't t think it's on right now.
Yesterday was bank holiday and most people have gone for 4 days. Also been on the road from Toulouse to Rambouillet which is about 80 kms away from Paris, and not a single prob. Of course it does t mean that it s the same everywhere.
Will let you know on here.

Sorry, guys, didn't know you had all been informed - my excuse is I don't often visit that particular forum.

Firstly, what I would like to know is if these fuel protests make any difference in persuading the French Gov to think again about fuel tariffs?
Secondly, why dont we see the same in this country, our Gov can implement almost anything and we just put up with it.

Does him -indoors allow you to get drunk?

Setting fire to heaped tyres again, I expect, damaging the tarmac. I noticed that they had repaired the roads from the last bout when I was there this year. Bless!

Bit of a relief a Dutchman had told us it was all through November (don't watch or listen to news when away). We will be going back across France on 12th/13th.

To demonstrate their anger before the 17th November French motorists are putting Hi-Viz gilets on their dashboards. Apparently.
