We’re off to France for September and managed to squeeze the inflatable kayaks in, but wonder if it’s worth the bother.
With all the droughts and seeing the Loire looking dry on the TV a few weeks ago am I being too optimistic that they’ll be any decent paddling?
Hoping to visit the Loire, Dordogne, Vassivierre, Tarn & Ardeche

Don't forget the health issues, not just algae, if a river is low any pollution is going to be concentrated.

Have you thought of going to a sheltered bit of sea such as the Morbihan? Otherwise try the lakes nearer Germany and Switzerland.

The Loire is fine in many areas. It depends on how close to the end / sea you want to get.

Also, when in September. The later you go, the lower the levels.
