Just a heads up
Filled gaslow bottle in france Thursday got back to England last night.
Fridge not working hob not lighting.
5 degrees outside good job I have a inverter or else no hot drink
If you have a under slung tank do not fill in france on your way back

Did you turn the gas back on after travelling over or under the channel ?

Where do you think the gas has gone and why ?

I'd have thought they'd have switched to a higher propane ratio by now. I filled one of my Safefill cylinders whilst there in the summer but made sure I used that first.

Sounds like the problem lay with you rather than the LPG as even if it was butane, it will still vaporise down to 0c

It starts slowing down at around 10°c by the time you are at zero it’s pretty much game over 😂
Even a Propane cylinder can slow down when the weather gets cold, all cylinders have a limited off take rate depending on surface area of the cylinder / tank .

What a P****er forgot to turn gas back on.
Long day short night
That’s why we always ask that question when we get people telling us their gas has failed 😂
First one is are you sure it’s turned on ?
Then have you definitely got gas in your tank / cylinder .

Had a right miserable bugger at the tunnel checking my gas this time.
He said is your gas turned off? no I said as it’s a bit of messing around going out and taking the cover off twice so will do it the once while you watch, should have been done before he said!!
Normally they are very friendly, was at night though so probably had a long day.

Sometimes they've accepted my word that it's turned off, sometimes not. One time a very lovely young lady, when I pointed out that she couldn't see whether it was on or off, insisted on looking 'anyway', dutifully looked, without looking but went through the motions as it were, and said ok. Another lady admitted she didn't know what she should be checking. It was her first time, she was in training. Some training! It's all part of the fun! Can't wait till the next trip!

Ps, thats not sexist, it just happens they were of that ilk.

Never mind, you won’t do that again, and as a result of this thread neither will a lot of others, self included
