French canal cycling (1 Viewer)

We are "planning" our first month long tour in France in September in our M/H this year, not having any route in mind, but would like suggestions in Normandy and Brittany of cycle routes /Aires in those area's. My wife is not too confident on a cycle, so we would like surfaced canal type cycle paths if possible,with nice old towns and villages nearby. Love being by the sea as well.
Not sure how far south we would get in that time, but would want to restrict driving to 2-3 hours per day, with 2-3 days stops in between if possible.
I have read a lot of threads on French touring, but the names of some small places mean nothing to me!

I was going to tell you about the old railway track between Carhaix and Gouarec but I've just seen this web page which covers that and a lot more based around Gouarac

I don't know if there is an aire in Gouarec, but there is an aire in Rostrenen and a campsite in Mael-Carhaix.
