We are still hoping to catch up with Old-Mo on his French trip although we cannot leave UK until after 5th September. Has anyone got a French aires 2014 book we can borrow?We are going to Ilfracombe next week but not Malvern this year.

When is the 2015 book published - is it still worth buying the 2014 version?

We have just bought a truck sat nav so once it's charged up we can have a play with that.

Since you have just bought a SatNav, why not go to the Camping Car Infos site and download the POI file for France. This is one of the best sources for aires in France (and most European countries too).
