Freezer, errrrrrrr, freezing. Fridge not very cold? (1 Viewer)

our fridge has been on leccy since last Oct (full timers) but we have been to a five day meet and while the freezer is working fine and has frozen fresh chicken down while we have been here the fridge seems quite warm regardless of where I put temp control knob?
Any ideas please?

Yes Garry but on the move soon back to the farm. I will try that though.

Ours suddenly did exactly the same last September in Spain, absorption fridges guzzle electric and perform poorly. Had a new cooling unit and the fridge still doesn't ice across fully like it did from new. Running the condenser fans flat out helps a bit. Definitely having a compressor fridge next, so I hope it self destructs soon

Might be worth giving your flue and jet a clean.....

That will have to wait till next month when we're at the caravan Garry, my compressor is over there.

Ours was doing the same and Martin cleaned the jet out and all's OK again now.

Yes that was my plan, on leccy till next month so will strip and clean. What I don't understand is that the freezer is as cold as a cold thing.

Freezer gets first dibs on the refrigerant & fridge gets the leftovers. If the flame is a bit low , as in jet needing cleaning ,then the freezer will be taking all that is available & there is nothing available to absorb heat from the fridge, so leading to the temperature starting to rise.
