Do I need a freesat tv or a freesat box to connect to a satellite? I've got one of those small satellites from Aldi but haven't got round to setting it up yet. Then it occurred to me that it might not work anyway if I haven't got the right tv.

To receive satellite TV, you require either a sat digital tuner or a TV with Freest tuner built in..

The Aldi kit normally comes with a 12v sat. digital tuner .. which can be used with any TV

If you want Freesat, then you will require either a Freesat set top box, or a Freesat TV.

I would assume that the "Aldi" kit receiver is a "free to air" receiver, so will pick up the same channels as a Freesat set top box would, but without the Freesat software (no 7 day programme guide, automatic channel dates etc)
