On my Fiat Ducato X250 tandem axles based Frankia (a 2007 A-class) I cannot get rid of the screen wipers activating every time I switch on the ignition/start the engine. This puts a lot of strain on the wiper arms, especially when the screen is dry, to the point that one of them has now 'chewed' through the knurled collar of the wiper arm. So, two questions. 1. Does anyone know how to stop the blades operating when ignition is activated and 2. where can I get a (or 2) new arms. I just know the make is Italtergi, length of arm 550mm. Any ideas?

Over the years both Fiat and other dealers have looked at wiring, but found no faults

A class vans often have a separate relay box controlling the wipers fitted by the converter. On our last Hymer we had a wiper fault there was a Schaudt relay box that was faulty.
