The Fridge and blue control/fuse box on my 2006 740BD started to be very noisy and with a electrical vibration when I start up and drive. I can take it off by switching on the surround lights so it seems to suggest an earthing problem to me or could anyone recommend a good sparks in the Crewe / Stoke area

Just bumping it for you, but what are "surround" lights ?
Done IT! After tearing out what hair I have left for 2 days I found the culprit! it was a 20 amp fuse that one of the legs had come loose. It looked fine but I went through them one by one with the metre and found the offending item. Should have started there !! 
It's a good feeling when you get it working, well done mate
