I have read in French connexion that France is to announce the programme of phasing out out the covid restrictions tonight

It doesn't mention anything about travellers/visiters though.

They seem to be on top it over there and doing such a great job!🙄
They had 464,000 Covid cases yesterday and 436,000 the day before.
Can you imagine the frenzy we would be in, if our cases were that high!

It’s because they kiss each other when they meet.

Weird lot.

Only joking yodeli :giggle:

There will be NO announcement with regards to the lifting of testing for overseas travellers (UK) according to French Connexion

Last time Liz got the beers in she used Apple pay so no issues whatsoever and she got the first round in as well 🍻🍻👍

Yes to your first question, for the second ,Are you sure he isn't?
I hope not. I am a fan of his but I will reserve judgement for the time being. However, Macron is a disaster and at least he may be gone soon.
Meanwhile I have total admiration for our Head of State, her Maj.👍👍👍

Sounds like genuine reporting

In France now via Tunnel with Dog & Docs ,what a palava compared to everything before.
Just an observation, we are parked up in a small well populated small town on arrival we walked into the centre giving the Dog a walk and buying bits & bobs and the difference to the U.K. is striking, everyone avoids each some wait outside a shop for it to empty before going in.If you walk some, you get glared at. They are obviously very nervous.

Interesting that France will likely pass us tomorrow for overall infection numbers, but from only half the tests. Maybe Msr Macron should give a party for Boris so he can advise him……
To quote my own post - Macron only missed today by 13,000. Just 425,000 today. Gulp

Number of people allowed in shops etc., has been the norm since the first Lockdown, the only difference is it is no longer strictly controlled by door staff on a 'one out/one in' basis. We went shopping today into our nearest town - Angouleme - and were surprised how empty the Supermarkets were compared to last Thursday; we had our own doubts about going - up to Angouleme and I think a lot of other people were equally nervous about the current Covid situation. People here have abided by all the rules and restrictions, yet we now have Omnicrom spreading like wildfire its' no surprise people are nervous. The relaxtion of rules announced tonight, in my opinion; will make very little, if any difference to most peoples' daily lives, compared to what has been announced in the UK.

I live in a, basically, pro le Pen/RN Commune, however the majority of my neighbours support the gouvernment Covid measures and don't see it as Macron being nasty to them. For the life of me, I cann't see what people in the UK have against President Macron, Le Pen is the only creditable alternative to Macron and a Le Pen gouvernment will be no friend of Britain.

Pecresse seems to be a credible challenger and it's got to be a good sign that the notoriously inaccurate French polls don't think so.

Amazingly, she would be France's first female leader.

well we are only driving through on the 30th stopping 3 nights on our way to Spain so don't think it will bother us
HE already stopped us on the 20th which was a waste of time as they had more infections than us

We are heading to France for two weeks on 1st February. We will stay away from crowded areas, visiting mainly rural areas. We will follow their mask, social distancing and QR code rules.

A motorhome is an ideal way to self isolate from the rest of society if you so wish.

Yes, we will be a little nervous but, triple vacced and with the above precautions, we will still feel relatively safe. We have avoided picking up COVID during the high infection rates in the U.K. by doing the same thing.

Like in the U.K., France’s major areas of infection are in the cities and areas of high population.
