Just heard about adjustments to Paris Nice cycle race tomorrow due to above and added pressures on police. Does anyone know if the strike is about anything in particular or just their general monthly strike. Will it affect fuel stations, supermarkets etc?

Since Sept 2020.
Quite a broad spectrum of people striking, it seems, including Brittany Ferries staff, as I found out four days ago.

Rebooked for Thurs .....

We went for lpg yesterday near Orleans, it was chaos at the filling station with queues for fuel, however after that other places we passed seem quiet, lots of warning notices in villages about planned marches causing disruption.

One of the main strike is to do with pension reform.

Woke up to a worry about the strike day. Liam decided the strike would be next Tuesday - the day we should arrive by Eurostar in Paris and want to use RER to get to our hotel  A 3 mile walk trailing luggage through 1m striking Parisiens and distruption of the TGV to Provence the next day was not the start to a "different" holiday I wanted.
Now I know why I enjoy both the run up and the actual motorhome hols (even if he got the strike day wrong (I hope))

As said..........

Quite. They dont know they're born! I love the French attitude to life balance but it means they tend to live a long time and its not realistic to expect everybody else to pay for it.
