How is it that with all the anarchy that goes on in France on these occasions, WE are still the most Unpopular members of the EU. They all hate us ((but they all want to come here)).
This may give a Gee-up to the Brexit campaigners.
Well done Frankie (Yodelli) you are a little Gem !! No, NOT the lettuce !!
Good luck to all of you in lovely France.
Mitch.

In every day life what is usually making someone unpopular? I'm going to tell you: It's the one who is able to turn his/her back to "fashion" never mind the subject , can be clothes yes, but not only! And English have done what a lot of people would have liked to do....keep their own money, when all the others adopted the Euro. You kept the pound... Sometimes it's a bit annoying , but mainly pleasant. I wish I was still talking "francs"..... If some people dislike you , it is just because they are jealous!

we should be more like the French. Wait till they get it out of their system, then carry on as normal.
The French, especially the Farmers, love a good tyre and straw bail burning. Let them get on with it.
Last year, while we were at our house in Brittany, the farmers up the road had a fire on a traffic island on the D700 while a dozen or so stood around with placards and tractors everywhere.
Everyone drove past waving at them, the farmers were having a great time waving back and smiling.
Next day, it was back to normal.

Travelled from Saumur to Salbris yesterday, and Salbris to near Fontainbleau today. Yesterday very quite lorry wise, a few more about today. No sign of any supermarket rushes at any location so far. Salbris Super U petrol busy, but no queues.

Easyjet have finally admitted that there may be problems on Thursday (Mr Stroppy due to fly back on Thurs evening). However, at the minute they are still saying turn up at the airport and we'll let you know then, which isn't particularly helpful if it is cancelled.

He did however get a plan B going when I told him on Monday of the likely problems, so if his Thurs eve flight is cancelled he is hoping to get on a flight on Fri morning as the company that he is doing some work for have bought the ticket as a backup - otherwise they end up having to sort him out until easyjet find him another flight. Based on his previous experience this usually adds another 2 or 3 days to his trip.

Successfully crossed from Dover this morning, with P and O on Dover to Calais route. Very quiet at Dover and on the French side.

Am about 10 miles from Calais for the night, no sign of any problems at petrol stations. Have to say I did fill up in UK so came over about 90% full just in case.

Currently near St Malo. Long queues at fuel stations. Many have run out of diesel and have no idea when the next delivery will be. Part of the problem is panic buying.

We are back home now, never would have known anything was happening, worst traffic was on the m25/1 when we got back over:doh:, tell you what we have seen though on a bridge over the mway between Calais and gravelines , a police van has been parked solid for two days with police with binoculars looking straight up the mway???.
Today , couldn't hardly believe it but a police armoured car was going up the other side to us, bloke standing on the front and some sort of cannon , don't know if it was just water, but it sure looked intimidating :Eeek:

reckless, when you get your 25 ltrs then drive inland away from the coast and ports where visitors usually go and find a small town which would normally have a couple of fuel stations. This Thursday through to Friday lunch time we drove 1000km in France, refuelled 3 times and all fuel stations were normal for non coastal France, ie hardly anyone in them.

@veevee We're heading towards Calais now for the tunnel on Wednesday, this is the first problem we've encountered.

We hope to find a smaller garage later but we already passed one that was roped off presumably empty.

Plenty of fuel and even more red wine here in the Dordogne...... and at 27 degrees and 9 hours of sunshine today so glad we emigrated! France ain't all bad, they stick up for their rights. Something that we never did in the UK.
Keep coming over Funsters and just accept the Country for what it believes in.
You have the choice guys. Skegness - ?
