All the gear, and no idea!
On our trip not seen any maned border crossing but might get a problem at Calais.
Why? How would they know I’ve been out of France? Even if I filled the Belgian and German forms in, a man can change his mind, right?😉🤭🤭
If going through Belgium remember to do the online form.
I’ve done it already and got a qr code for both of us👍

Very unlikely to ask for proof, we were asked at Dieppe what other countries we had been to.
That's all they normally do just ask. If they did want to check I expect you left a digital trail. Just don't upset any fishermen. :giggle:

Will there be roadblocks on the E40 at the Belgian and French borders stopping traffic coming back from Germany?
On the day we were going from Belgium into France just on the border where I think it’s the A16 it turns into traffic was filtered down to walking pace diverted up onto a slip road and there were about 8 police officers looking at vehicles going past.
A few lorries and cars had been pulled over, this was on a Sunday so not to bad only a 15-20 min delay.

There is a diversion off the e40 just inside the border near dunkirk but it was just random vehicles being stopped last time i came through. As Belgium is in the EU not going to make any difference to france one would assume.

I very much doubt it, never seen one so far.

In Baden Baden today and probably the best market yet and a lovely town. Like Heidelberg you need a covid test to enter.

Enjoy it. We went into Strasbourg yesterday and had to wear a mask everywhere. Watch out for changes for market in Germany we were told some may close down and be prepared to get a test.

So after our week in France turned into a week in Germany, we had a great time, we will return to France next year, and we got our maiden stay at gravelines out the way, which we will return to also. Had our lateral flow test in Germany to come home (NO charge)
So sat at the chunnel now and there’s loads of merc sprinters from the eastern bloc on the train, some pet transporters, but is it me thinking all these vans are something more sinister, it just doesn’t seem normal to me🤷‍♂️

Wow after todays news on France, I think we’ve been lucky to sneak in and out before this omicron became any worse!
Genuinely Feel so sorry for those who’s plans are now in chaos, it was bad enuf for us with everything changing every other day, I’d be heartbroken after planning and then not being able to go😞
Easy to say but there’s always next year, as at the moment although covid cases are high, I’m praying the strength of the virus is petering out, so we can get back to some kind of normal next year🤞🤞

We feel very lucky that we went to France for November with one test only on return, as we had originally intended January and that would have now been probably impossible. We were able to use two of our remaining Tunnel FQ crossings as well so that was useful. And we had wonderful weather.
Very difficult to plan though, for all of us.
