Ok .....so we are mad but circumstances mean we can only get away during this time. Planning on using aires , want to take in some coarse fishing , nice beaches etcetc . In the past we have happened on festivals and events like the sete jousting festival ....brilliant ! But thought we'd get a bit more organised. Anyone know of any other gems, festivals, events we could include . Propose to move around and go wherever. Thanks for any info.

Since April 1846 but have always camped.
As your first sentence says you must be mad to go to France in August. Let us know how you get on. Although we are going on the 26th for a month so we must be just a little mad.(n)

We're going on the 12th so mad too. We have been before in August, and it's best to avoid anything that is a tourist attraction as everyone else in the world will be going.

Sites are expensive but basic aires away from the coast are usually not too busy (the kids don't like them)

Late in August a lot of the schools are back and some sites are back on ACSI rates from the third week onwards so Nirvanauk should not find it too bad going on the 26th.

August? Medium-sized to large aires, arriving mid-late morning, no problem. Don't know what all the fuss is about. I've had a working life of compulsory August holidays.

since 2007, 25 years tuggin before that.
We're going in august again this year. Never had a problem before but we tend to stay away from the beach areas & get to our aire before 1 o clock.
