Hi Guys. We've finally made our first trip across the channell. Went Dover to Calais but got out of there pretty quick. Looked like a big transit camp. Headed down the coast and had a great time at Honfleur. Decided on a municipal site about 200yds from the town Quay. Great little town. Vowed to come back on the return leg.
Travelled along the coast from Courselles sur mer and took in all the landing beaches. Very moving at the American cemetery at Omaha beach. We are now at Camping St. Michel for a couple of nights then on into Brittany.
Its a shame that the motorway aires aren't considered safe to use as we pulled into some decent ones just for a break.
I don't know why we waited so long to come accross. Why is it the Brits can't be so accommodating towards Motorhomes?
Roads are great, people are great and we are basking in evening sunshine looking at Le Mont Saint Michel. Work seems like a lifetime away!

I totally agree with you Benni-Boy :thumb: "Why is it the Brits can't be so accommodating towards Motorhomes?).....what are the tight Ar--d councils worried about, giving something away free instead of filling there own pockets ?
Have a great holiday.......what took you so long to come over:helptitanic::sin::rain::welcome:...you never know we may see you as we are always out and about............we are in the UK at this very moment...but we will soon be on our way back home to France.

Quite envious - we did Normany etc last year. On your way back to Calais try to visit the block house at Eperlecques it is well worth a visit and is only about 1/2 from Calais. There is a municiapl campsite near to here but we stayed at one that had a pool etc as it was our last couple of days so we thought we'd treat ourselves!

Mont St Michel is absolutely stunning. One of the places I wanted to visit for many years and certainly didn't disappoint. Terrific in the sunshine and at night. We stayed in a campsite called Camping Saint-Michel for a couple of days after a lot of driving. Swimming pool/showers/electric for wife's hair dryer and GHD's!
