Assuming it's still got the origonal V4 engine tell him to get the oil pump drive checked. You have to remove the sump and oil pump, the pump drives from the bottom of the distributor via a pencil shaped rod that used to round off resulting in oil pressure loss and crank failure cracking looking van though :thumb:

That is the first one I have seen with wheel arches and sills still there
