Ford have issued a safety recall in the last week so those with Transit based MHs would be worth checking. It should appear on the Ford Pass app.
Recall is 25SE6 and is for venting (or lack of it) on vehicle battery.

Now to find a dealer that will do the work, local “Transit Centre” in Preston is useless.

Thank you Peterd82 , we've just checked the app and we have a recall too. We've not had a letter, so I assume this is on the way.

Recall has been on the go for over a month now, apparently adds a breather tube to the cab battery….not heard of anyone getting it done yet…..

I used evans halshaw near trafford centre for service. very helpfull

Has the recall on transit dodgy chassis welding / creasing been resolved yet ?
Seemed like a biggie at the time
There were a couple of members with affected vehicles, but they went very quiet. One was quite new, and I think he was getting into a legal situation, but he never came back. Ours was thought to be creased, but confirmed to be ok after 3 trips to the dealers.

Booked in for recall at Vertu in Wigan on Wednesday next week.

On a positive note the receptionist knew about the recall and it was a pleasant experience unlike that at Evans Halshaw in Preston.

Ours has just been done (battery issue).

We’ve also had a new battery as the ‘old’ one (10 months old) failed.

was that under warranty. were there any obvious signs it was failing.. ours is a 23 built 24 reg

I don’t think the battery issue is connected to the recall. We’re getting the van back next week so will comment then.

wouldnt surprise me if mine is dodgy.it had been stood in dealers for some time and i guess had been flattened for some time. they never recover fully. we used it a lot but its on EHU with BM at home whilst we are overseas. sounds like its not a 5min job. dealer did offer to pay for replacement which was honest as he hadnt updated ford warranty which i did .

I seem to recall someone reporting the latest solution was to reinforce the defective area by welding extra metal to the chassis. To me that sounded like a cheap bodge that would take a chunk out of the payload but I am totally unqualified to know what might be needed.

Of the various recalls and problems reported on Ford and Fiat vans fitting a vent tube seems like a very simple one that is easily resolved.

Update from today’s visit to Vertu Ford in Wigan: Motorhome was booked in for the battery vent recall only but Vertu added the recall for the skeletan chassis check and also a free health check. Communication was good, multiple texts. The cynic in me thought that the free health check might be to find work to charge for but they confirmed all ok and importantly no charge.
What has impressed me is that when I refitted the Rob Drew drip tray I could see that they had topped up the coolant reservoir and the washer fluid.
A refreshing change from the attitude of some dealers, I know where I will be taking the motorhome in future !

On the opposite side……Trust Ford Aberdeen……total joke of a company.
Asked about getting the recall done…..they want the van all day, 8-5 for a 30 min job.
Asked about a courtesy car as we live 35 miles away so cant sit waiting for 9 hours and was told “ we aren't keen to give out courtesy cars if you are just gonna go home and leave it parked up all day” - I kid you not. Wtf?

However they did offer to run us into Aberdeen centre (2 miles)….we are perfectly capable of walking, but I refuse to sit around the whole day just so they can have the van to do this quick job at their convenience.

Asked about a “convenience check” when the van is 1 year old in June - I could get the recall done then……this check is just visual and fluids top up, nothing else…….they want £180 for this check! Yup, you read that right, £180.

Needless to say, they will never be seeing our van in the future….great way to treat potential new customers.

I don,t think they want your business ..they must be really busy...great advert for Ford owners. Not unusual though..small jobs are "fitted"in to max fitters time on jobs.

Yup, unreal eh?
I did say that to them but the woman says “if there are any warranty issues we will see them” …..oh well, youve convinced me now….🙄
We will just look for a Ford dealer who’s a bit more helpful during our travels south over coming months….certainly wont be giving Trust Ford any of our money.

We picked the van up today.
We’ve had some issues with the van, it started giving power train malfunction warnings at 6 weeks old, never went in to limp mode but got worrying. Two visits to the ford transit dealer, they couldn’t find any issues but blamed the aftermarket scorpion alarm (dealer fit).
Alarm company changed the alarm, saying that the older version of the alarm wasn’t compatible with the 2025 Transit, but then we started getting TPMS shutdown alarms. Then the heating and vent system (through synch 4) stopped working.
Took it back to supplying dealer, who have been great. They arranged for it to be taken to the local Ford dealer, who changed the wiring loom in the dashboard. Alarmed on collection!

Ford Dealer reset, Moho dealer took it back to their premises to fit a new alarm, but the battery was flat. They took it back to ford, who did the recall, and fitted a new battery under warranty. We had a number of low volt alarms over the last few months.

Dealers thought process is that the battery was faulty from the start and the cause of the initial problems. They were informed that Ford had reduced the size of the starter battery last year, and this is one of the reasons they need to increase venting of the battery.

Time will tell if the van is now fixed.

Have to say the dealer has been absolutely marvellous, sticking with the issue for 4 months. We are so glad that we bought locally, and chose Peter Roberts - their service has been great.

We had the vent tube thing done on our transit yesterday. Without telling us, they also did a visual health check. Looking at the checklist they gave us, it's similar to an MOT. No charge for this. I can highly recommend Vertu Ford at West Bromwich if anyone needs a Ford dealer in that area.

Just realised today on the Ford Pass app that the recall is showing as incomplete despite being done by dealer a month ago. Tried to phone dealer but still waiting for them to call back.
Did get a letter from Ford yesterday dated 19th March to arrange recall but thought this might just be timing.
Have others that have had the battery vent recall done checked on Ford Pass ?

We had the recall done on the 10th. It's gone off the app now.

Just checked again and recall is still outstanding on Ford app, dealer promised to sort last week. Recall was done on February 25th. Time to call Ford myself I think.
