Hi all!
I recently discovered a fantastic leak in my 2007 ford benimar at the top break light. I only noticed it when the top bunk was wet after the heavy rains a few weeks back.
I took it to get a quote for repair work and then politely walked away after the 2-3k estimate as I understand the majority of the quote is due to labor I figured I'd do some if not all of the donkey work.
So far I have stripped off the 2 panels at the back to asses the damage. The beam where the break light needs replaced, the beam connecting the wall to the floor is entirely gone and crumbled. The floor itself doesn't have any damp readings against it but the corners of both ends of the wall appear to be affected.
I have placed a dehumidifier in there to dry it out as some of the beams are still solid but clearly wetter than they should be.
Does anyone have any advice as to where else to check, should I be concerned about the walls connecting to the back wall?
Also as the bottom beam was attached to the fiberglass I have scraped back what I can but can't seem to reach fiberglass surface. Would this be ok for reattachment of a new beam or do I need to reach the fiberglass?
