I'm stalking following 3 people on this site, 2 of whom post regularly, yet I don't seem to get an alert when they have posted. Anyone else experiencing this? Or any clues as to why it might be happening?

Have you gone into your settings, preferences, alerts, etc, and checked the right boxes?

On the same theme, I see names in bold and blue. I assume so they get an alert. If I want to do that how do I?

I have every box in the Alerts section ticked. The only boxes I don't have ticked are:

Automatically watch content you create, and Automatically watch content you interact with.

Do you think I should tick the second option?

It's worth a try Ann, and you can always revert back if it doesn't work.

Not sure if you got the answer you wanted so incase you never (and I learn't this recently)....if you type the "@" symbol infront of the users name it will go bold and blue and yes they will get an emailed notification to say they've been mentioned in a post.
