I am wanting a lithium leisure batter around 300ah . Was going to buy from fogstar but they are out of stock till after xmas ideally needing one before then to go off grid over new year , any suggestions of an alternative thats not a silly price?

I have just pre-ordered 2x460ah and spoke to Lyndsey there and she said they MAY arrive before the new year but have put delivery as first week in January to cover any potential Christmas delivery delays.

do you know if these can these be used as a direct replacement for AGMs without adding lots of other gadgets?

Not really...but yes. You can use your existing charger to charge them, but they will never fully charge. They need 14.8v, most none Li chargers put out 14.4v, although I did have a CTEK which even on AGM profile was kicking out 14.9v.
