Glad you've clarified that Martin - that's the reason why I didn't sign up for the bonfire meet as much as I love fireworks.

IMPORTANT FOR DOG OWNERS

The fireworks for The flower show (August) are in the quarry which is probably far enough away (a good 1/2 mile as the crow flies) not to bother your dogs

The fireworks at the Bonfire meet (November) are at the showground - just across the field so is likely to bother dogs.

OK peeps it's time to start parting with money for this event, Telephone and speak to Jan 01743 289831 office hours 10am-3pm the cost/night is £8 without hook up or £13 with (you must book this at the time you book your place). Minimum 3 night but extendable.
Then post back here that you have booked, indicating EHU or not and your dates and I will update the list, you can also indicate the number of show tickets if you wish but we will keep separate records for this but a cross reference never hurts and your friends can see who is going and who isn't. Don't forget to give your forum name to Jan.

Just to remind you the rally is running from the 10th to 16th of August (Thursday to Wednesday) and the minimum booking is for three night but you can extend this with Jan once you are on site.

The flower show is on the Friday and Saturday and we are going to do a block booking for tickets at £19 each, these can be used on either day but NOT both (that's two tickets). Standard advance purchase price is £25 and on the day £28 so this is well worth it, you could if you wish become a member of the Horticultural society for a single fee of £45 or double £80 this gets you into the show for both days and adds a few other perks as well all info on their web site.
EDIT just an update to the above information, the flower show committee are meeting this week and they may offer us a discount code to book direct with them (it won't be less than £19 though) so if you prefer that option you may want to hold and wait for an update on this.

There will be a further update about the Canoeing and Canoe hire when I can get a sensible price, you can fish but keep your hooks away from my blow up Canoe.

Martin we had a lovely day in Shrewsbury on Monday we had a lovely walk along the river to the quarry . Thought Funsters who will be visiting your meet would like to see some of the pics we took . The quarry is only a short walk about 20 min from the show ground less if you walk fast

@Jenben. Carolyn, it's not something that normally "floats my boat" either, however, I am assured that it is quite an impressive exhibition, so, I'm going to give it a go. Maybe if Chris does comes along, and both he and I get a bit peed off with it all, I am sure that between us (and other male Funsters thinking alike) we could soon find an alternative interest.
