We are used to not staying in one place for too long when travelling in the motorhome, however we have booked 10 days at vilasol in Benidorm in January.
What would you recommend for the flooring outside of the van under the canopy. (It’s a hard sandy/gravel like surface at the campsite)

Hi, when we were there a few years ago most people were using a polypropylene sheeting bought from the camping shop opposite El Raco including the special large headed nails . it came in either black or grey then and worked very well. :xsmile:

You can get breathable ground sheets from places like Go Outdoors. That's what we use but we need ours to be a bit smaller so are going to try cutting it down and using Gorilla tape on the cut edge.

We travel with a plastic type carpet that rolls up and can be carried on our bike rack, works a treat on all surfaces and inexpensive.

We had a breathable, from the caravaning days. To prevent it cutting on the gravel, cheap thick pvc used for damp proof membrane from in my case Jewson. Went underneath it. Dumped it when we left.

Latterly we have the RV camp mat, which we bought from Camping World in Texas. And shipped as excess baggage by my son on one of his business flights (free):xgrin:

Sorry, forgot to say it came from IKEA.

We use a simple 5m long footprint of an old and no longer extant tent
then cover that with a couple of layer of breathable groundsheet to make walking in bare feet comfortable

Works for me quite well as it means all the shoes stay outside usually 4 pairs of Steph's and my flip flops

Definitely not breathable as when it rains the yellow mud comes through, I am there now.

Yeah!, You have to seal it off, hence the Thick "underlay" of PVC. Mind, we had rally heavy downpours at La Manga, when the BIG industrial type rubbish bins went "float about", And the whole thing would have washed into the Mar Menor if it had`nt been pegged down!.

I`ve seen people use these too:- Broken Link Removed

After walking around Vilasoll it seems that the membrane type stuff you use in the garden is a popular choice. It's also very lightweight which may be why?
Some plots are completely covered with it.
The sandy gravel is a right pain in the....

We got our mats from Seaflo, their at all the shows or you can find them online.
