Hi. :help:

I am thinking about a fixed awning for my Apache 700 SE, does anyone have any recommendations ?

I have a Mobil 300 drive-away awning which is wood when the weather is calm, but when the wind gets up it drives me mad with the tunnel flapping in the wind !

My canopy rail is around the 250cm height, so I was thinking of the Outdoor Revolution Techlite Pro XL (this covers 250 - 270cm, which would cover if had to raise slightly with leveling ramps ?).

All experiences / advice very welcome.

Isn't a fixed awning going to flap just as much as a driveaway link section? You will still get the wind blowing into it from under the van. We usually disconnect the link on our driveaway if it gets very windy.

Also, do you tension the link when you erect your DA awning by winding your canopy out a little, before you put the 'tent' up, and then back in after to remove any slack?

Hi, even when tensioned as advised the side tunnel panels are elasticated & it doesn't take much wind before they start to move about ?

When am somewhere for more than a week, I have a skirt which stops the draught from under van. The fixed awning has a pad up against van & can get poles which hold it in place & keep rigid ?

There are loads available here and apart from the advice of Funsters, all the shop staff have a good product knowledge if you want to pick their brains!

Techlite pro XL

Hi Peter.

I see you stock the Revolution Techlite Pro 'L', do you do the 'XL' ?

The 'L' series in Outlook is up to 250cms, which is OK when van is perfectly level but if have to use levelling ramps - the 'XL' series are 250 to 270cms ??

Hi Guys.

Finally I decided, I went for the Outdoor Revolution Techlite Pro XL. :thumb:

Doors @ both ends (one also has an additional fly screen built in) & the front comes out, been away for a long weekend & it was so easy to put up, only one pole to assemble, plenty of room for four to socialise.

Hope Wivvy's dad is enjoying the Mobil 300.
