I have a N&B Arto 69GL

I am fitting a new Reich submersible pump in my tank, which has a sealed cable attached ready to connect to an electrical connector in a dry locker.

To reach the connector the old cable exits the top of the tank through a blue cap which would appear to not be screwed but sikaflexed in place, so is probably a lift-off.

Can sombody confirm how that cap is fixed and made watertight. if it is just sikaflexed, is it just a matter of breaking that seal with a sharp knife and lifting it of, feeding the new cable through and re-sikaflexing it in place?

Thanks in advance for help.

Geoff

Mine just does through a hole in the top of the tank. No seal.

Can't you pull the old wire out and feed to new one through the same hole?

That is already my fall-back solution and I think I must have done that in the past. I am just not sure I will get a good seal, but then I doubt much of a droplet would escape even on a bumpy road with a full tank.

Our cable is a slide fit into the hole. No water gets out.

Will the top not turn with a bit of force? my cap just unscrewed, still had to cut the wire to get the old pump out though. Oh and buy a spare pump Geoff, I had two last year(y)

A photo of the blue cap might help Geoff. I think I have a blue cap which has the sensor probes attached to measure the water level but it may be for the pump. I will have a look tomorrow.

i think the blue cap is the level sensor our pump wire goes through a grommet

Agree. Done two in a year. It only takes a tap to have a sensitive micro switch and the pump will run whilst you are out. Burnt out pump 😱. No water flowing and the pump in water but still a £50 fine for being careless.

I am just reporting back on the problem.

The need to fit a new pump was because part of the pump outlet connector to the pipe had snapped off.

However when I looked at it again I wondered if there was enough of a stub to get the pipe on and secure it with a jubilee clip.

I tried that today and on test it held, so I have not fitted the new pump, which means I have a brand new spare - very comforting.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions.

Geoff
