I'm a newbie
I would like to have a go at fitting a FLEXIBLE panel to the roof of my MH. I've watched videos on fitting ridged panels and it all looks straight forward providing everything is supplied in kit form. Of course the only panel I can find that fits the available space I have is supplied without a fixing kit. Does the panel need to be raised clear of the roof if so what's the minimum clearance required? Not having seen a flexible unit I'm assuming they're semi ridged and not floppy and they will take a self tapper in the frame. If I do buy this 140w panel will any controller suffice? The videos are not clear on how to connect the cables to the battery, I assume there are connectors that fit over the battery pinch bolts

I had a flexible panel fitted to the pop top of the van, and it's just stuck directly to the roof with sikaflex or similar. As to the regulator, any of a suitable amp should be fine. My van has a schaudt elb and the regulator plugs into that

One thing I heard mentioned is that panels can get hot when in direct sunshine. Air movement under a fixed panel helps.
