I want to fit a Gasit bottle to replace one of my calor bottles in my van ( I have purchased a twin bottle set up off a fellow funster but have two full calor bottles so think I may just fit one of each for now).
Anyway, my current set up is two calor propane bottles. The current regulator is just a bottle mounted 37mb one with a rubber outlet hose.
I assume I need to change to a double input 37mb bulkhead regulator with a manual changeover (and an 8mm outlet). Can anyone recommend one please?

You could fit another bottle top regulator to the second bottle and fit a Tee piece onto the copper pipe connection to the hab area.
I'm not sure if bulkhead regulators are available in 37mb & if you fit a 30mb appliances won't run as well.

I did wonder about a second regulator. Can you fit a bottle top one to a Gasit bottle I wonder?

Yes our first van had Stako bottles (I think Gas-it are rebranded Stako) we had that setup, it had German regulators you can get adaptors for UK regulators.

Thanks. That sounds like a nice simple way forward.

So as others have said you could use a bottle top like this as it will fit directly onto a Gasit take off valve 21.8 LH connection.

I have a twin Gaslow set-up on my Hymer and I fitted a regulator on each bottle.

That's excellent, thank you. I'm going to order two this morning (one for future use). Is it acceptable to connect the rubber outlet hoses together with just a T or Y connecter?

Better to put a brass Tee with ribbed hose connectors on the copper pipe feed to the van.
If you just fit a T or Y use a brass one and fix it to the bulkhead so it can't move about.

FWIW, this is what I did to plumb in my Gaslow + Calor Combo

I leave whichever bottle I don't want to use (invariably the Calor) off using that cylinders bottle top control. These parts came with the used dual-cylinder Refillable kit I bought so seemed to be right for the job.
Note this is just a 'how I did' it post, not any advice. Seems to work as it needs to.

That’s on a modern leisure vehicle with a 30 mbar bulkhead mounted regulator .
The poster has an older van with 37mbar bottle mounted regulator.
Completely different set up đź‘Ť
