Have finally got around to fitting a 295watt panel and epever mppt controller. February is obviously not the best time to try it but I am getting zero from the panel. Is there any way to fool it into thinking the sun is shinning bright light etc. Or do I just have to wait for a sunny day. Sun has come out here for twenty minutes or so still showing moon symbol for nighttime. Should I be getting some current even if very low?

Are the batteries connected?
Did you connect the panels to the controller last?
What voltage are getting from the panels at the controller?

Yes followed instructions I think. Battery voltage and load being displayed correctly just panel light not on and moon symbol showing. The panel display doesn't change even if I unplug it.

Even with fairly heavy cloud cover you should see a reading albeit minimal..
If you got absolutely nothing I would quess you got something wrong👍

If your batteries are fully charged you won't see much current flowing, best to discharge the batteries a bit and then try it making sure you have unplugged the EHU.

Did you connect the controller to the batteries first then connect the panels, if not disconnect the panels & batteries then connect the batteries before the panels.

Made all four connections into the controller. Connected positive and negative to battery and then plugged in the panel connectors on the roof.

Absolute beginners.
Clutching at a straw here, but does the controller need to be configured on some dip switches, or other means the type of battery you're charging? 🤷‍♂️

Can you tell us voltage where your panel cables enter the controller?

What are you using Load for? In most cases, should not be used
What is battery voltage (measured at battery)
What is battery voltage as reported by epever?
Did you power the controller on FIRST befoe connecting panels?

What is the voltage across the panels (when not connected to epever) - even at dusk it will report something. Do you have + and - the correct way round at the controller?

Not worth delving into settings as "moon" generally means no voltage from panels - I'd suggest its likely the cable/connections are poor/broken/wrong way round - hence get the voltage across the wires before the controller - if that is zero, its the cable or cable to the panel - if its wrong polarity, fix it. If its 20+ v then more work needed but I CBA to type until we know the above

Check polarity from solar it’s correct, you should get 37 ish volts from the panel even without any current.

33.8 v at the panel connectors. Fluctuating between 13.5 and 18v at the controller. Don't know what was wrong loose connection I guess undid and remade each one once I knew the panel had an out put. Should the voltage be fluctuating or do I have another issue?
