Hi, has anyone got any advice about using truck stops with campervan over night in Australia? Do I have to use proper campervan parks? I have mentioned before but I am now starting to plan for my trip and its just one area that I am not too sure about. Many thanks

Thanks for the reply,I assume they will give official view. I had that from the hire company I am getting the van from. I was just wondering if someone out there has the experience of actually stopping at non camp sites?.Is it tolerated or do you get moved on? I don,t mean just in a layby on a busy road but more like a rest area or truck stop as I said. Many thanks in advance.

Hi, can I just repeat my request.Has anyone been out in Australia with a campervan and just parked up for the night? As I said not literally on the side of a busy road but tucked out of the way. Is it allowed? I am a total novice user and would like some feedback from what I call" proper campervan owners". Those that have been there, done that.
Have tried the suggested site but not very clear.
Many thanks

I guess there are not many have made it to Australia in a motorhome, but I'm sure some will have hired vans over there.
Have you looked on Australia based forums ? I'm sure you'd get good up to date responses from there.

I know there's a few NZ members on here - the clue is username starting with Kiwi - and I'm sure there's a few Ozzies too. Maybe if you start a new thread with Wild camping in Australia or Truck stops in Oz in the title you might get more attention from them.

Brilliant thanks

We stopped all over the place, lots of wild camping spots and more organised, never had a problem 20,000 miles in 3 months!
