Just waiting for lockdown to lift then I'll be looking to buy my first MH. Looking A class as I will be spending a lot of time in it. I'm thinking of something along the following lines...

2006 HYMER S700 STARLINE MERCEDES BENZ SPRINTER 416 CDI 46.000 miles, Now £42,995 From Dealer. The very same vehicle was previously on sale for £37.995! from the same dealer.​

Question; How much should I be looking to make an offer on this MH? And max before walking away?​

It appears to be a seller’s market at the moment, so I’m not sure you’ll have the upper hand in any negotiation, unfortunately.

If you know it was on sale at the lower price that’s all I’d off as the dealer was making money at that price and just got greedy, phone and ask why the price has changed.

That’s well overpriced for the year, we purchased a 2009 Carthago for that last year. It unfortunately it is a sellers market at the moment but some are taking the mickey.

I would ask what it weighs, as its on the 4t chassis and already at 4600kg.

It's on a RWD Mercedes chassis which people are prepared to pay a premium for so you have to factor that into the calculations, it would be better at the original price though

Seems a bit steep , I paid £32000 for a 56 Plate Hymer B680 , RWD Mercedes 4.6 tonne last july , less miles but I did have to spend £1600 for new upholstery , curtains etc.
It looks like a nice van but difficult to justify the price.

Is the 4t chassis on twin rear wheels or is that only on the 5t?

Its plated at 4.6 tonnes , 1.1 tonne Payload apparently . Yes twin rear wheels.

In April 2019 my son bought a touring caravan off a dealer for £1100.
In September 2020 it sold at auction for £3400.

Sellers market I'm afraid. As ever: your choice.

phone him and ask his best price , at least you’ll know where you stand
