We’ve just arrived at the Tunnel and are heading off on our first Mini Trip in our new van.

Delays in obtaining our registration docs have meant that our trip is limited to just five nights. But we’re going to try and cram in as much as we can.

We’ve got to be in Dortmund on Tuesday for a flying visit to our dealer, other than that we’ve no firm plans.

Tonight we’re heading to Bruges and tomorrow we’re goong to sample some Belgian beer and maybe some of their famous chocolate.

After that, who knows?
Maybe Ghent or Kortrijk or both?

The sun is shining and we’re ready for some FUN!

newbie - again
Be keen you hear you thoughts on the Aire(s) in the center of Bruges if you plan to stop there? That is our second stop in the new year.

Enjoy the trip
Cheers
Marco

Enjoy, van looks nice what we can see of it, especially the registration plate.
No better place than Bruges for beer and chocolates at this time of year.

Stopped at a site just outside Ghent a few years back on our way back from Düsseldorf - lovely town that I would like to visit again. Enjoy your trip.

Like you, we will be taking our new(still to be collected) motorhome on it's first trip to France in about two weeks.(y)

Looking at your new motorhome, compared to ours, can you bring us back in your garage if we break down?

. . . and chips! Have a good trip. I would love to hear about Bruges, especially where you stay. We are likely to be going to the Netherlands next year to visit relatives and will probably visit Bruges en route so any information gratefully received.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
In Kortrijk back in March most of the old centre was a building site with loads of buildings being restored and roads being ripped up, looked like a long term project so I would give it a miss.
Argree Gent well worth a visit, free aire by the leisure centre, dump point but no water. It's right next to the tram stop.

not long enough
Bruges for me has to be climb the clock tower, but no idea why I have done it more than once o_O

followed by a large glass of Kwak in the bar opposite, has to be one of the silly glasses with a stand (y)

once had three and then bought the glasses off the barman for about €20 each , I think I was pissed

think we threw them out last year, unused in 10 years :)(y)
