Allow me to express my first impressions of our Bailey Autograph 79-4T after our first trip away.
Some will know the issues we have had to get to this stage.
When we looked at the Bailey we knew the build quality and some materials used were a bit suspect. That's turned out to be the fact.
However, having looked at other vans made in other country's i thought the cost difference did not justify the added expense. Plus the fact we could not find a another van with the layout we wanted, the 79-4T was the closest we coud find.
The space is amasing. The beds are a full 6" wider than our Imala and so comfortable.
We love the 3 gas and 1 electric hob (although not used this trip)
The Aldi? heating at first i was not impressed with but now i think is fine.
The fridge n freeer is massive and doors open either way.
Storage is more than we will ever need.
Bedroom can be sectioned off from the lounge, which is good for me as i am an early riser.
The overall feel and room of the inside is very comforting.
It having the 165 BHP engine mean it pulls great. Manual (my preference) gearbox is easy and slick.
Now,
An annoying rattle was soon located and cured (hate rattles)
Bathroom is a bit on the tightside (we have never showered in a van yet)
The 4 place free standing table supllied by Bailey is about as much use as a back pocket in a vest so will be going in the skip.
The muck thrown up onto the body by the front wheels is excessive so mud flaps ordered already.
That's about it.
All in all a very impressive first trip out.
I feel i have saved £30k ish on my budget accepting a few minor build issues, (don't mention the blown engine on the one last year).
Now planning a longer trip in the very near future.
Tow bar being fitted on 21st April so scooter and rack will follow soon after.
Telly, debating but likely. Need to look on here for which one.
