Am I alone or does everyone else experience the absolute terror that I feel on rounding that first corner after leaving anywhere.

What is going to fall off?
What will go bump?
Will the draw open?
Will the door open!

Then after that there is the same again in the opasite corner........!!!!!!

Is it just me ?

Don't be such a wimp, set off full of confidence that all will be well. If that drawer does slide open, that cupboard spews its contents all over the floor, the fridge unloads itself, then and only then can you have a Doh! moment  it might never happen :sneaky::LOL::LOL::LOL:

I've fitted plastic 'child locks' on all the cupboard doors and drawers. Even if they open on a corner they don't open far.

It drives me mad - I always go round and make sure everything is shut and locked before we set off. Then one of the family (including SWMBO) remembers something they need, opens a cupboard or the fridge and *sometimes* remembers to lock it again.

Know what you mean, out last motorhome I forgot to secure a drawer. I was following hubby and he pulled over because the drawer had come flying out and crashed on the floor. We were on our way to the dealership and they sorted it for us. Of course it was my fault as I hadn't double checked

Our van doesn't have any drawers, it did have an errant wardrobe door until I fixed it!

We ALWAYS check EVERYTHING before moving off.

And always somehow seem to forget something.

We have been motor homing for 7 years now and the odd drawer STILL flies open... I use my best Anglo Saxon words and Jenny goes running back to lock it..
I ( of course ) as pure and blameless as driven snow....
Mitch.

Its just you that feels absolute terror, others may have some mild concern, some dont worry at all. If you adopt a routine of checks before moving off you might feel better. however, its always in the back of my mind and I often think, did I lock the fridge, are all the buttons pushed in.

Nope, just drive off then 5 min later say "oh f**k what was that".:)
New van has really good soft closing draws so no problem there, last van had to replace wrecked draw runners they flew open so many times, those huge draws Hymer fit on some vans are a really bad idea.

A few years ago in our new caravan, the fridge door flew open and deposited a MASSIVE bowl of home made chilli con carne all over the carpet. Of course it lay there for a few hours while we drove on, oblivious. Last person in the fridge, SWMBO. The second tragedy was that it was for our tea. Guess how many times the fridge gets checked now?

At least in the motorhome, you get the message straight away!

I know exactly what you mean, we had a bottle of cider explode in our fridge caravan which all leaked out onto the floor and didn't know until 5 hours later

Learnt a hard lesson years ago. 1st time we set off in our old van turned the corner and the fridge wasn't locked properly and out comes all the food and a bottle of wine all over the van floor. Now we double check every time
