Did mine today and will finish it tomorrow as well

Yes 1st time this year. Spent most of the morning up and down the ladder. Looks so much better but I didn't realise how dirty it was. Cant believe how much grime was on the roof and needed a good scrub to loosen it up.

Ps what's with this polishing idea?

Hi swifter got to ask what are the black squares on top?
going to take covers of mine next week then a clean there will be the usual light mould inside although i left the roof vents open this time so isn't as bad.

I’m on my phone so photos are small and not clear but they look like £20 notes to me.

I wonder if he’s stashing spare money up there away from the missus?

Looks like they’re patches to cover / seal where things have been fastened to the roof.

I think one of the previous owners had some roof bars which were removed and the squares cover the areas where the bars were attached.

Good Morning!

That looks like a splendid job! I think ours needs doing, Normally away from home in storage but on drive overnight in prep for trip tomorrow. Seeing it from upstairs window is certainly an eye opener!
Can I ask what method, tools and products you used to clean it with. I don’t want to cause any damage with anything used to clean it.

Thank You

As the grime was so heavy I had to use a jet washer but you need to be extremely careful around any trims or seals , fridge vents etc.
I also have a lower power battery jet washer that I use as well . A good soft brush and some Fenwicks products like their Black streak remover and Bobby dazzler are also worth having in your cleaning kit .

Washed mine down on Monday. It's been blowing a hooley for past couple of days and most of the adjacent poplar tree catkins and seed pods plus sundry twigs are now residing on my roof which needs doing again.

Ours was done a week ago, but professionally at our local commercial garage that has a professional valet service.

Came out gleaming all over. Just under £60(about £0.80 per sq.m.), incl. polishing. but this is Poland.

I am too old and mean to try to save that sort of money.
