I never got the Firestick remote to work the Avtex. The name simply didn't appear in the list of makes. Be interested if anyone has got it to work.

We have not long had our Amazon Fire and to my mind it knocks Netflix into a cocked hat. The programmes are higher quality and much better choice. Presentation could be better on how you choose what to watch though.

Yes I got another one on Amazon sale day (13/10/2020) for £29.99 but when it came, saw it was the Lite version which has no TV functionality. I'm pretty sure I didn't order the Lite version but am keeping it anyway and leaving it connected to the home TV which can be controlled by three other remotes!
When I next go to the van will try again with the Avtex.

The Stick is simply resource for picking up data so you can get Netflix as well as others except Nowtv. Choice and quality in our view is better than Prime.

I’ve just got one but you need a 240v source close to TV which is another job l have to sort.
You don't need 240 volt,,you can plug Firestick into a port on 12 volt telly.BUSBY.

Yes you can but its all catch up through TV players i.e. BBC, ITV etc, etc,. You need a good internet connection and a download speed of at least 1.5 Mbps, more for HD and a shed load of data.

Ah, super. Does that mean you need a VPN while out of the country then ?

What exactly is 'catch up' and how is it different from 'on demand'

Yes, as above - with a UK registered data card and you don't need a VPN, plus there is a UKTV app in the Google store that gives you access to most UK broadcast channels and can be viewed on a smartphone or tablet - we usually use a tablet to watch the breakfast news rather than get the telly out for half an hour.

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........

Yes you can. Install a IPTV app and get an account (search for IPTV provider). I use Firestick on our travels and have UK TV as long as I have an internet connection. Just remember to play SD channels and not FHD or HD whilst on a data sim.
