Well, I was chuffed after I had logged in etc. and got everything uploaded from Amazon prime and the likes but there is no sound. Can anyone help? the sound I chose on installation was from the TV.

Firestick updated?
TV speakers selected?
Mute button accidentally pressed?
Is sound okay on normal aerial?

Check volume control on fire stick.

Done all the above and yes, the sound is ok on normal aerial.

I have been getting an issue of late with just the YOUTUBE app on my firestick.
Other apps work ok, normal tv ok and the firestick "clicks" from moving around the screen.

Try going to settings, applications, manage apps, locate the one not working and select "force stop". Then see if that works..
I have to do every few days on mine and only on that one app. Not found a cure as yet.

Possibility of trying a new port for the hdmi is worth a try

When you turn everything off, make sure you actually unplug the firestick. I get the same issue when I change the input from sat TV to firestick or vice versa, so I unplug the power from the firestick and turn the TV off before switching it all back on again.
There may be an easy way to sort it but what I do works for me !!

Thank you everyone. I will try all of your suggestions and get back to you with the results.

Yep, it might need to be an "ARC" HDMI port, ARC is Audio Return Chanel, i.e. it will do some stuff with audio over HDMI. Also, check you've got "Best Available" selected from the Display and Audio settings in the firestick - if that works, then you could reselect any other sound setting to get the best for you.

Here are a few other ideas:

Have you tried the stick in another TV.
Could be a faulty firestick.
Yes, I tried it in another TV and it worked great, trouble is the TV I want it to work on is mounted on the wall. I will give it all of the suggestions I have tomorrow then maybe just swap the TV's around. The Fire Stick will only work in my home office near to the router though. I have tried it on the TV it worked on in other rooms around the house and it can't pick up a strong enough signal.

Update! well, I plugged in the Fire Stick today and decided to reinstall and start all over again, so I clicked to reset to factory settings everything uploaded fine until it was time to pair the remote control and a message came up "cannot connect to server, please check Wi-Fi blah blah ......." I don't understand how I can watch anything online on my laptop but can't get the Fire Stick to work on my TV. Has my laptop got a special dongle inside it or something:unsure: I have never had such a good internet connection with anything else like I do this laptop, I think I am in love:LOL: The Fire Stick, well that is going back to Amazon:banghead:

A factory reset and then not having a WiFi connection sound related but maybe you did reconnect to the WiFi after the reset and the remote control is something else 👀🤷‍♂️

Lasted information on the Fire Stick for anyone else who has this problem. Try the Fire Stick in another TV. It just did not like my Alba TV. I tried the Fire Stick in my Hitachi TV, and it works just fine. Thanks again for your help everyone(y)
