Fire Pit

I don't have one, however, I did see one being used on a van life vlog recently and it was well received with good reviews.

@Grianan
Nothing there that I can see!

@maison ... screenshot of the post, not sure why you can’t see it

@Grianan
Thanks.

I can see the screen shot but in your original post only a blank area. I’m viewing on an iPad if that makes any difference.

I like the look of the fire pit though.

@maison If you're running an adblocker that could prevent the advert from displaying.

Why run an adblocker? Less flashing adverts, web site pages can load faster, harder for some companies to track you and sell your data and less risk from malware buried in adverts. Admittedly all these benefits are hard to measure and they're not 100%, but...every little helps

Back on topic - I've heard these fire pits are good - apparently the mesh construction means airflow is very good and cuts down smoke, helps lighting (y)

What I meant was,why have a fire pit. Seems a bit ott as don’t have a problem without one,but you’ve answered that now.:)

Ahh :D my mistake. We used to have one when camping as it was the only way to keep warm but that what Truma is for now.

It is a bit of a 1st world issue, I suppose :oops:. It’s the attraction of sitting by a campfire with less risk of starting a fire that spreads.

Well,that seems a reasonable idea! Spent many an hour round a camp fire as a youngster,never to be forgotten,but nowadays a glass of something warming and an early night is all I need!!

Now a glass of something AND the campfire ....

Yes my neighbour has one and it stinks when he has it on, if sitting in our garden in summer we sometimes have to go in doors god knows what he burns on it sheep sh#t out the field I think

i have had loads of firepits over the years (cheap and expensive) and 'personally' i dont think the stainless mesh will last very well on that
My thoughts too, and the heat generated wouldn't do the legs etc much good either, I would be messy to clean etc afterwards too ... I much prefer the one Peter has linked to.

Thanks Peter,
If it came with a bag I’d get one.
You can probably buy a bag that it will fit in off Ebay etc, or make one, by inverting the mesh lid it would pack fairly small and you can obviously cook on it too!

As above. Can't beat it

We have one of these, which we find excellent for both barbecue and fire pit, and it folds down to around 3cm thick, so easy to store in the garage.

Many, many, Campsites in the US, have fire pits on the pitch. The UK has yet to catch up in that regard. you dont lug huge lumps of steel about, just the wood.

Most often Old Truck wheels, but many are built of stones "harvested" locally.(y)
