Hi

Wish to fit a water filter, the filter head (about 80mm by 70mm panel) requires 2 screws to hang on and one spot, probably the best, it could be fitted is the side wall of the van under the sink. The van wall is of a similar construction to the image shown below (image from @Techno in a previous post) .

What type of fixing would be best to use? Any advice please?

Fit it to a piece of plywood and screw the ply to the wall
I just found the thread Nature pure QC water filter (basic) fit, which has these images and thought this might be the best way to go bigger area and more fixing.

What is a good way to fix the plywood sheet to the van wall?

Thinking of using a 3m double sided tape as well on the mounting board, not so sure about No Nails as tricky get off if required, although not sure why I would want to get the mounting board off?

No.8 stainless steel. You don't need anything else! the brunt of all strain is taken by the fixings for the head unit in the ply. The ply will be absolutely fine with a screw in each corner.

All completed, wooden panel affixed to the wall then filter head fixed to that with some backing sponge to act as a cushion and a velcro strap to hold the longer larger filters in place.

The filter head is an AP3 which accepts a variety of filters, we use them on our hot water tap in the kitchen, but the real decider was being able to get a filter (3M E2 Microbial reduction) the cost of the filter head about 23.00, standard filter 25.00 (0.5 micron, 99.5%) and the best filter 50.00 (0.2 micron and 99.9%). Very happy no appreciable lose of pressure either.:)

Mike

I used Pozzani, there is a discount code of NOV2016 (15% ) at the moment, the filter I use at home are Cuno Aqua Pure AP3-C765-S Filter + Scale Inhibitor, we no longer get these from pozzani as they are cheaper to buy elsewhere in a pack of 3.

And the really good filter designed for Motorhomes etc... is Link Removed, there is an E1 cartridge but it is not as effective.

The tricky bit is the pipe work, we have blue cold and red hot pipe work the OD is 16mm (note not 15mm) but the internal diameter is 10mm, initially I thought it was just good quality food grade hose pipe (which actually I suppose it is). Pozzani techs are very helpful and they will supply tubing and adaptors/tails but make sure that you are confident in your pipe work sizing (I was not at the time) as their guy said you must mean 15mm not 16mm and sent me those adaptors which did not work.
