These two kept at each other for about 15 minutes…..then they both gave up and trotted away (after knocking-over the water dish!)

Hedgehogs !
But they'd taken their prickly shirts off for the fight !

after No Hedgehogs for a year we have seen one recently drinking the water we put out for the birds . A shallow dish of water may help these lovely gentle creatures survive this heat xxx

Coated in mud and thrown on the fire.
When cooked, crack the mud and the spines come away with the mud.
