- 3 years 30,000 miles UK and Europe.. Campsites and off Grid.
I had always taken it that a UK purchased Fiat motorhome had 24 months warranty. (I am aware - I think - that other European countries get 36 months)
However, I have been told that Fiat Camper Assist is for 3 years.
Today I rang Fiat camper assist to confirm and was told that my UK motorhome has the '2 + 1' Warranty and the camper assist follows this arrangement.
Looking at the service booklet this says 24 month unlimited miles warranty after which you get an 'additional warranty' of 12 months limited to 100,000 miles. This states 'Under this Additional Warranty, the dealer is obliged to repair components which are DEFECTIVE due to manufacturing by replacing them with genuine Fiat spare parts or reconditioned Fiat Professional parts free of charge.' (Be aware I am not referring to the optional 5 year warranty you can purchase when you buy new.)
Is this really applicable for UK models? Has anyone here use Fiat Assist in the 3rd year?
I'd be interested in concrete hard facts - maybe linked to proof. There is a lot of folk out there who seem to think they know but it really needs to be backed up with evidence. The guy on the phone at Fiat customer services was not convincing enough for me to relax. I'm just wondering whether to buy breakdown cover separately just in case.
