Hi, I'm thinking of importing a 2013 Fiat based motor Hymer tramp. and need to modify the headlights to conform to the UK. Has anyone done this and if so how do I do them

Yes mine was imported 2008 so escaped the above. I have beam benders permanently fitted and no noticeable impact on vision.
I don't know about 2013 headlights but up to 2011 are cheap as chips

The seller has the other side too

Yes you will have to change them takes about 10 min a side. There is is a plastic cover above and below the headlamp that need removing before you can access all the mounting screws. The plastic covers are held by a couple of screws on the inner edge, the outer side just clips in. It really is easy. You will also need to change the speedo dial that also only takes 10 min replacement dials from Broken Link Removed, make sure you get the right one 3 versions for the x250. Rear lights are OK has Hymer always have twin rear fog lamps.
Just for info the X290 is even easier just 2 screws on the lamp no plastic covers.

Edit:
If you buy lamps of eBay be aware the later ones have a different connector they changed the wiring loom, I think there is an adaptor available not too sure.

Why is it so time orientated Lenny? It takes as long as you want, take it easy have a cuppa (y)

Just pointing out it's a quick and easy job so as not to scare someone off from tackling it themselves & shelling out loads of cash getting someone in to do it.

Well I think you need more than 10 minutes personally but yes it is easy once you have done it once.
You also need to be sure when replacing the front headlight bolt that the beam adustment screw does not move! as it is a left hand thread so screwing in the fixing bolt can wind it out.

Thanks for the info up till now. I'm told the lights are adjustable to dip in the right direction. but the replacements don't seem to dear. Biggest problem now is trying to find how I can pay the vat the gov/UK site is a nightmare

There are indeed adjustment points on the unit but I think it is a closely guarded secret or specialist job. Hence being sold as one or the other.

I think you are confusing the lights with the Hella projector lamps fitted to A Class vans these are adjustable to straight dipping.

What VAT, no vat payable on vehicles over 6 months old or done 6000 km.

There are also hex key adjusters on X250 headlights BUT BEST NOT play with them without the knowledge.
